Therapy is creating a safe space to strengthen your relationship with yourself so that you can persist, work through and overcome any of life's challenges.  Though I enjoy working across the spectrum of mental health and wellness, I offer a specialization in helping children and adults to cope with and thrive through Anxiety and Trauma.

I offer "talk therapy", meaning that when you are in therapy with me, we will develop a relationship through conversation.  I will invite you to sit down with me in a relaxed, informal way, and we will talk. I will help you to talk about whatever is on your mind. We will explore your feelings (mind-body), thoughts, patterns and relationships, and I will carefully listen.  I will support your ability to see yourself with clarity and kindness.  As you begin to better understand yourself, you will experience a greater sense of predictability and self-compassion.  You will begin to feel better...stronger. You will find that these positive shifts are often long-lasting.

It might seem strange at first that our focus may not exclusively be on symptoms and strategies.  But a great therapy is about creating space between you and your symptoms--so that you can better stay grounded, reflect and understand your experience.  Such a practice helps you to find strength in yourself even through the most difficult of times.  Once you get started, you will find that the talk therapy isn't just talking at all...it is a place to feel heard, be supported, find a sense of calm, create a sense of security and create space for compassionate, supportive relationships with yourself and others.

In short, "talk therapy" is a relational process of somatic (body), emotional and cognitive transformation.
